PHC format
The new embroidery machine Brother Ult2001, Brother Super Galaxie 3000, Baby Lock Ellageo, has the capability to store the design(s) you make on the machine on a floppy. Brother has invented a new file format for those designs (PHC extension). PES2Card will be capable of reading those designs and writing them to a card to be embroidered on either other BBD machines or Viking/Husqvarna machines. Amongst other nice features, the PHC format also provides the capability to combine designs. PES2Card will write these combined files as separate designs to a card.

Brother / Baby Lock blank card
Together with PE Design / Palette version 4 Brother has released a new blank card. This card can only be written by the new Brother card module or the PES2Card card module. The PES2Card card module must have version 4 firmware installed to be able to write to a Brother 512 Kb blank card. Brother and Baby Lock call this card the 4 Meg card. Two units of measurement are available to measure card capacity: one is in bits, the other is in bytes. One byte is 8 bits. Where the user is really interested in, is the capacity in stitches. For most stitches the minimum storage is required. The minimum storage is two bytes. Just for completeness: a floppy holds approximately double the amount of stitches as the new blank card.
